The history of Château Chêne-Liège dates back to the nineteenth century, with the grouping of several plots of land located in Pomerol. It is Pierre NIARFEIX, founder in 1896 who is at the origin.
A few years later, his descendant Marcel NIARFEIX acquired the Domaine de la Bastienne in 1936. These parcels of vines are located in the Montagne-Saint-Emilion appellation adjacent to the commune of Pomerol and that same year Château Chêne-Liège is awarded the nomination of 1er grand cru classé.
The vineyard enjoys an exceptional terroir, oriented favorably due south. It receives ideal sunshine.
